Trophy from Terrigal President Rose.
Another fantastic day at Terrigal with The Entrance team of Alma, Margaret and Denise taking out the major prize. Second place was Breakers, third a composite team from Avoca and our Lyn Bourne and the only Terrigal team coming out with a prize was Valerie Davis' team with Robynne and Beth.
Well done to all that made the effort to come dressed in their race day outfits.
CHALLENGE CUP held for No 4 Pennant players.
The surprise package of the tournament was NSW duo of Maxine Brem from Double Bay and our very own, Sandy Desiatnik from Terrigal. The two ladies finished the Open Women's Pairs competition undefeated.
Maxine has only been bowling for 5 months. Well done to you both and congratulations from all of us at Terrigal.
Great match with only 3 shots the difference.
Central Coast retained the trophy and scored a 185-156 shot win. A strong southerly gale was blowing with temperatures only 14 degrees.

PELICAN PAIRS 2017
Pelican pairs 3rd place went to Tess and Lorraine with 4 wins and 1 draw. Hard games with gusty winds and fast greens. The carnival was won by a Sydney team and Belmont came in 2nd place.
The winners on the day were the team of Lyn Wagner and Tess Koutsellis, second place went to Pam Sydenham and Dallas Hughes with a Gosford City team of Kaye and Sandra Anderson coming in third. Well done ladies and congratulations to all teams.
Tess Koutsellis victorious on last end
Those who came to watch the finals of the 2017 Major Singles were certainly given a treat with excellent bowling skills demonstrated by our two finalists, Tess Koutsellis and Di Whitaker.
Di was down 23-13 and fought back to reach 24 all. On the final end, Di was holding shot until Tess played the perfect bowl to once again be crowned the winner. Congratulations Tess and well done Di! What a fabulous game!
Wendy and Julie Di and Elizabeth
Congratulations to Wendy Brennan and Julie Syer in their victory over Elizabeth Lochte and Di Bailey as the 2017 Major Pairs winners. Although Wendy and Julie's experience came to the fore on the day with long ends being the deciding factor, all players are to be congratulated in demonstrating the qualities of a champion.....possessing an iron will to win; not focusing on their own ego, but on the big picture, and above all else, never quitting!
Sixteen Committee members were welcomed to Club Terrigal on Wednesday 14th June for a thank you luncheon hosted by President Rose. The day began with drinks followed by President Rose thanking all present for the contribution they have made to our club throughout 2016~2017. After Jan Benoit expressed the thanks of all present to President Rose for her leadership throughout the year, guests enjoyed a delicious lunch provided by Bec's kitchen. This was followed by our own Resident Chef.... Rose's delicious caramel tarts and mini pavlovas which have become her signature sweet selection for special occasions.
Paddy and Lesley - cutting their cake
A special time was set aside to say farewell to Paddy Hearne and Lesley Gorbach who are not renewing their membership as they feel it is time to take a step back and enjoy the game they love from the sideline. Both ladies have been loyal members of our club who have enjoyed playing with our special group affectionately called 'The Fifteen Enders.'
Not to be out done. on Saturday 20th May, Grades One and Two were invited to a gourmet luncheon hosted by Sandy Desiatnik at her new home. The weather was perfect, the food delicious and the company was so enjoyable. We are all grateful to Sandy for her initiative in organising such a lovely afternoon.

Great effort girls and congratulations. Good luck in the Regional playoffs at Redhead in July
The commencement of the 2017 Pennant season was a highlight for TWBC as Grade 1 players proudly presented in a brand new image. Dressed to impress in their new uniforms, which were worn with much pride, a closely contested game against Bateau Bay marked Round 1 of the competition with Terrigal being declared the overall winners by a very narrow margin. Thanks to Bateau Bay for a game played in the true spirit of good sportsmanship.
Australia Day celebrations started two days early at TWBC when fifty - five members joined together to celebrate what makes our country great. The day had a special meaning for all who attended as we reflected throughout the day on the fact that we are so privileged to call Australia home. The soaring temperatures became so excessive that play was abandoned after only eight ends, with all returning to enjoy the air conditioned comfort of our club. Here we enjoyed ' Good Old Aussie Trivia' presented by our Quiz Mistress Secretary , Lynne Wagner, as we admired our surroundings. These had been decorated in true Aussie colours by our hard working social committee , so capably led by Lorraine Murphy. Lunch was Aussie style consisting of a sausage sandwich and tasty lamingtons accompanied by a drink... or two! We all felt proud of what we had achieved as members of our great club and as a nation. We look forward to the exciting challenges which we will be presented with in 2017. Congratulations are due to Tess Koutsellis, Di Whittaker and Betty Fardy who were the overall winners of the day.
